Imagine you are at the movie theater, and while watching the previews, you are competing for free popcorn or a soda. How? With the Movie Fan Rewards, an interactive real-time trivia app for movie lovers to win immediate prizes.
The app knows the movie you are about to watch and triggers specific questions about the previews you'll be watching. The one who answers more questions correctly (and faster) will win the prize. If you are not the lucky winner, you will still earn points or rewards that you can exchange for other free items or even movie tickets at some point.
Movie Fan Rewards will also ask if you want to watch the movie in the previews. If you do, it will send you a reminder when the film is playing (I know I have missed many movies because I forget about them).
At the end of the previews, and just before your movie starts, the Movie Fan Rewards app will put your phone on vibrate (you are welcome!).
We expanded the concept of Movie Fan Rewards to work while streaming, but it became too complex to develop.
The concept is good and can still work, but it isn't easy to see long-term sustainability.
